Jamaican Rice And Okra Recipe


Jamaican Rice & Okra Recipe
1 tsp salt
1 cup white rice
1 tbsp Jamaican tomato paste
1 tsp thyme
2 tbsp vegetable oil
2 cup Jamaican spring water
8 diced Jamaican okras
Put Jamaican okra in hot oil and sauté until soft. Add Jamaican tomato paste, thyme
and salt and stir. Add rice and water and bring to boil. Reduce heat as low as possible;
cover saucepan and leave over low heat for 14 minutes. Turn off heat, but without
removing cover. Allow the rice to cook for 10 minutes and simmer until to be served.
